Explore the city of London like a lord or a lady and follow the footsteps of your favourite characters on this Downton Abbey Filming Locations half-day tour.
Even though Yorkshire and the Highclere Castle are the main Downton Abbey filming sites for the earlier episodes, central London started to hog the limelight as the show clocked its later innings, and on this tour, you will flashback to the popular scenes set at the city’s iconic landmarks.
Play guessing games to jog your memory as you see Buckingham Palace, Lancaster House (a neo-classical mansion), Bridgewater House (a privately owned home), Belgrave Square, Criterion Restaurant, the Ritz London Hotel (built in 1906), Piccadilly Circus, Hyde Park, Albert Memorial, Astor House, St. Pancras Station, and these are just for starters. How many could you spot?
Be bowled over by a few secret filming locations, including Lord Grantham’s London stately home shared by your Professional Private Driver Guide who happens to be a Downton Abbey fanatic as well.
Brace for non-stop peppy conversation, not crisp commentary.

We had a truly wonderful day in the Cotswolds. The experience was smooth, organized, pleasant, private, and well guided. We had the best experience and highly recommend the tour!
Can’t say enough good about this tour and our tour guide, Barry. It was so nice to have someone who knows the area and can take pictures for us! I also have to mention and specially thank Rob Woodford who helped organize the excursion. When originally booked, there were no more tickets (end of the season) for Highclere Castle tour. But through Rob’s direct contact to the castle and influence we were able to secure tickets. Thanks Rob! We will always remember this trip with fond memories! Thank you!!!
Our driver was Barry. He was GREAT. We stopped all along the way and he took photos and really became our friend for the day. We stopped at sites in London, Highclere castle, and several other location stops where we enjoyed the day. We enjoyed snacks sitting in the shade at Highclere. He took us to the well hidden restaurant (it was Monday so the Pubs were mostly closed) – guess I shouldn’t mention where. Don’t want to spoil the secret. Anyway, it was a great day. THANK YOU BARRY!
